Special Ed Emotion Regulation Rubric

A technology-based assessment rubric written specifically for the special education version of my Emotion Regulation Mind Map project.

Assignment Description

Students create a digital mind map using a technology tool such as MindMeister or another approved mind-mapping platform. The project focuses on identifying emotions, coping strategies, classroom supports, and communication skills for self-regulation. Students organize information visually using colors, images, symbols, and short descriptions to demonstrate understanding of emotional regulation and digital learning skills.

Measurable Learning Objectives

  • Identify at least four emotions and matching coping strategies.
  • Use a digital technology tool to organize information visually.
  • Demonstrate understanding of emotional regulation skills.
  • Present ideas clearly using visuals, labels, and color coding.
